On Thursday, U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene announced leading a new subcommittee in the House Oversight Committee to work with President-elect Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency. The goal is to cut costs and improve government operations. House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James R. Comer formed the subcommittee to combat waste and fraud. The external agency will be overseen by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, aiming to reduce federal spending by at least $2 trillion. The new agency, DOGE, will focus on discretionary spending cuts while protecting entitlement programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Musk and Ramaswamy plan to reduce regulations, streamline bureaucracy, and work with the Office of Management and Budget.
