The Georgia State Patrol is gearing up for the 108th Trooper School and is looking for qualified candidates to become State Troopers.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is accepting applications now.  The school will be conducted, contingent on state funding and will likely begin at the end of September of this year.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a high school diploma or G.E.D.  Also, applicants must be twenty-one-years old by the time they graduate.  There is a pre-employment process that includes a background investigation, a polygraph test, physical fitness test, oral interview along with psychological and medical evaluations.

Georgia State Troopers earn $46,422 upon graduation from Trooper School.  The Georgia State Patrol says that they plant to hire cadets for employment with Georgia State Patrol Posts prior to the start of the 108th Trooper School   Salaries for cadets is $34,392 annually.
