The Georgia State Patrol has released preliminary information about an accident on Back Berryton Road on February 7th involving a poultry truck. According to the state patrol: “On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Troopers were dispatched to an incident involving A 2017 Kenworth commercial motor vehicle hauling a full load of poultry was traveling north on Back Berryton Road. While negotiating a curve, the driver left the roadway off the east shoulder causing the vehicle to overturn onto its side while sliding down a small embankment. The load of poultry separated from the trailer, causing hundreds of chickens to scatter around the scene. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Chattooga County Emergency Room. The roadway was shut down over the next several hours as the tow company and chicken farm workers clean up the crash scene and recover alive and deceased poultry”.
