The Georgia State Patrol post in Rome has released some information regarding the fatal accident on Highway 27 Tuesday afternoon that took the life of a Summerville woman.  The final report from the state patrol is not complete, but information released to AM 1180 on Wednesday evening stated that Cynthia Bearden was travelling northbound on Highway 27 near Marble Springs Road when her vehicle ran off the right hand side of the road.  Bearden then overcorrected which caused the vehicle to turn counter-clockwise into the southbound lanes.

According to the information, Bearden’s vehicle was struck on the side by a vehicle driven by Carmen Matney of Trion.  Matney’s vehicle was then struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Roger Galloway of Summerville.  All three vehicles wound up in the southbound lane.  Bearden was transported to Redmond Regional Hospital where she was prounounced dead on arrival.
