The Summerville/Trion Optimist Club Halloween Walk will be held Thursday, October 29th between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00pm.  

Optimist Club President Sandy Weaver told the Summerville News she's expecting as many as 2,000 children to attend this year's event; residents can park anywhere in the downtown area and start collecting candy up and down the street – there's no designated starting spot.

Any businesses or individuals wishing to take part and distribute candy – can contact Better Hometown Director Susan Locklear at (706) 859-0900.

The Town of Trion will hold their Halloween Walk Saturday, October 31st, from 6:00 – 8:00 that evening.

Police will close Gray Street, Moore Street and Tavern Lane to all traffic during that time.
