Ricky Hughes with the Trion-Summerville Optimist Club says that this evenings Halloween Walk will go on rain or shine. Over forty businesses, churches and civic organizations have said that they will be handing out candy tonight. The annual event in downtown Summerville draws hundreds to the event and Hughes says that rescheduling it is just not an option.  The National Weather Service says that there is a good chance for rain tonight, in fact a 100% chance – but the forecast as of this morning is for the heaviest rainfall to arrive around midnight and continue through the early morning hours of Friday.  From 5 PM until 7 PM, the time of the Halloween Walk,  there is a 30% chance for rain.
