Another candidate has announce intentions to run for Chattooga County Coroner.

Heath Hammond, who lives in the Teloga area, told WZQZ News on Monday afternoon, “Hello my name is Heath Hammond and I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Chattooga County Coroner for 2024. I am a Christian Husband and Daddy of three daughters. I have been a lifelong resident and I am currently serving as Sergeant at the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department of which I have been on since 2016. I have been working for my small Lawn Care business, driver at S&S Butane Gas and driving a School Bus for Chattooga County School system. I am a member of Dry Valley Baptist Church where I help in some of our ministries there. I am now looking to help serve our community as your Chattooga County Corner and would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election,Thank you”.

Hammond joins Savannah McGill and Jeremy “Big Mac” McElhaney in announcing their intentions to seek the Republican nomination.  A fourth candidate, Carrie Blackwell, has not released an announcement to WZQZ.
