It is that time of the year when Chattooga County property owners get those property tax bills in the mail.  But Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that while her office has mailed the statements out, they are getting a good many of the bills returned in the mail.

Hampton said, “If you haven’t received your 2021 tax bill yet, it could be because we have an old address on file…… we already have a large stack of returned mail.”

Tax Commissioner Hampton said that her office will send your address change to the Assessor’s Office to have it corrected for future correspondence.
