The Georgia Department of Corrections is seeking individuals who are looking for a career.

Employment Qualifiers for Correctional Officer positions are listed below: we ask that you bring these items with you to our office.

· Proof of US Citizenship (Driver’s license, Social Security Card or Passport)

· High School Diploma from an accredited high school or GED

· If you have a college degree your diploma (Associate, Bachelor or Master)

· Be at least 21 years old

· Able to successfully pass the pre-employment process which includes physical fitness test, drug test, background investigation, oral interview and an Integrity test evaluation

· Must be able to meet requirements for certification as a peace officer by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T)

· Minimum vision of 20/40 either corrected or uncorrected in each eye

Salary Information for Correctional Officer’s:

$41,844 yr ($20.12 hr) starting out

$43,517.76 yr ($20.92 hr) in 6 months

$46,028.40 yr ($22.13 hr) on your 1st year anniversary
