On January 7, 2010, during the inclement weather, the Sheriff`s Office received a call from a person on County Road 505. The caller stated that Randall Ordell Ginn, 23, of Henagar, was pouring gas onto the caller`s trailer and threatening to burn it down. Ginn had fled the scene when investigators and deputies arrived. Upon investigating the area, investigators and drug task force agents located a meth lab and other related evidence outside the trailer.
Further investigation led to Inv. Mitchell Dendy obtaining warrants for Ginn. A sting operation was set up to take place on January 11, on County Road 126 in Henagar. Ginn was arrested without incident during the operation and was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center. He was charged with Attempted Arson 1st Degree and Manufacturing of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree. Ginn had bonded out of jail on previous drug charges, and his bond was revoked on those charges as well. He remains in jail at this time without bond.
The man who lives in the trailer was not charged in the incident. It appears from the investigation that Ginn and the man had gotten into a dispute, which prompted Ginn to get a can of gas and threaten to burn down the trailer.
