LaFayette is gearing up for one of its biggest holiday events of the season as the 2nd Annual Highland Christmas Market takes over the LaFayette Farmers Market Pavilion on Saturday, December 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers say shoppers can expect 60+ local makers, bakers, and farmers, offering everything from handcrafted gifts and seasonal décor to baked goods, art, woodwork, jams and jellies, soaps, jewelry, and more—perfect for anyone looking to shop small and keep holiday dollars local.

Families can also enjoy free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Fergus the Highland Cow, and The Grinch, along with Highland bagpipes, a petting zoo featuring a “reindeer” donkey, and even s’mores (weather permitting). Food, music, and holiday activities will be part of the day, and organizers say it’s happening rain, shine, or snow.

The market will be held at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 181 E. Villanow Street in LaFayette, and guests are encouraged to come dressed in Highland holiday style—tartan, cozy plaids, or even a favorite kilt.
