The Hold The Gluten Support Group will meet May 13th at 6:30 p.m. at Lyerly United Methodist Church, 105 Oak Hill Road, Lyerly, GA  30730.

 

May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month.  Our Hold The Gluten Support Group will have two speakers this month.  Darlene

 

Geer, Manager of Ingles Supermarket in Summerville, GA will be our first speaker.  She will speak on how Ingles in

 

Summerville is working to better accommodate the Celiac Disease community with gluten free foods.

 

 Our next speaker will be April Hathaway, a Nutritionist with the Floyd County Health Dept.  She will speak on gluten-free friendly restaurants in the Rome area.

 

Several gluten free items will to be given free to those with a gluten intolerance.  John Soules Foods has provided gluten free beef and chicken fajita strips.  Canyon Bakehouse breads sent gluten free muffins, bread and hamburger buns. Other freebies will also be handed out.
