Holly Chaney has announced she is running to represent District 12 in the Georgia State House, a district that includes Chattooga County and portions of Floyd County.

Chaney describes herself as a community advocate and preservationist who is focused on what she calls people-first leadership and local accountability. In her campaign message, Chaney says she wants government to be more responsive to residents rather than “powerful special interests,” and she emphasizes values of hard work, fairness, and respect for community.

Chaney’s platform highlights efforts to protect local communities from environmental harm, promote responsible use of taxpayer dollars, and invest in long-term stability for families across Chattooga and Floyd counties. She also says public funds should prioritize strong communities, safe environments, and opportunities for working people instead of what she describes as excessive subsidies for wealthy corporate interests.

Chaney also points to civil and human rights as a core part of her campaign, saying she supports dignity, accountability, and equal protection under the law for every person. She says her approach to leadership centers on listening, showing up in the community, and advocating directly for constituents.
