Quick thinking by a Chattooga County resident may have caught a burglar in the act of burglarizing her garage.
 
Chattooga County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a Farmersville Road, Summerville, home on January 21 in reference to a burglary.  According to the report, Carolyn Martin reported that she had discovered several items had been stolen from her garage on January 12. Martin said after that she installed security cameras in side the garage and checks the cameras every day.
 
On Jan. 20, she checked the camera and the night before, the camera had videoed a white male prowling in her garage. The man reportedly was wearing a white hoodie and dark blue jeans. Several photographs were turned over to officers. The report states that the man appears to be going through several items in the garage in the photographs.  Officers think they may recognized the man in the photographs and he just happens to live within waling distance from Martin's home. The suspect reportedly has a record which includes thefts, entering an auto and burglary. He also is on parole, according to the report.  Reported missing was a 12 volt power drill and other miscellaneous tools. The incident is under investigation, according to the report.
