Hope For The Hungry is returning to Chattooga County during the month of May.
The event is sponsored by four area churches: Lyerly First Baptist, North Summerville Baptist, South Summerville Baptist and Central Avenue Baptist Churches.
Pastor Trey Williams of Lyerly First Baptist Church told WZQZ News that after the free food give away was canceled for the month of April, the four churches are coming together to offer food for the needy this next month.
The events will take place on Thursday, May 14th from 10 AM – 1 PM. The food distribution will be a “drive-up” service with strict social-distancing practices enforced. Pastor Williams says that Lyerly First Baptist and South Summerville Baptist will be distributing the food at Lyerly First Baptist’s parking lot and North Summerville Baptist and Central Avenue Baptist will offer the service at the parking lot of North Summerville.
Williams say that, as always, no I.D is required.
