The Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter in Summerville has the blue prints back for the building located off of Highland Avenue that formerly housed the North Summerville Elementary School.  Directors with the shelter say that the blue prints have been approved and that they have now ordered the fire alarm system and are looking for it to come in very soon.

One issue that they had not counted on was the need for a "fire wall" that will cost around $3,000.  The shelter said that they need to raise funds to pay for it because it was not in the original plans.  According to the shelter directors, the code enforcement from Atlanta is requiring that the "fire wall" be built.  Directors say that donations would be appreciated to help cover the cost and get the shelter up and going before the worse part of winter sets in.
