Deer season is in full swing in Northwest Georgia and Chattooga County hunters are being asked to share their bounty with those in need this hunting season.

The initiative is a collaboration with Helping Hands Ending Hunger, the Chattooga County schools, Trion City schools, Family Connections, Live Healthy Chattooga, and Weesner’s Wild Game Processing.

There is a significant need for quality meat and protein for families in our community. Hunters Ending Hunger aims to help by bringing meat to the tables of those who need it most. For hunters, the process is simple.

Any deer you kill during season can be donated to Hunters Ending Hunger. Just take it to Weesner’s, located at 4334 SR 114, Lyerly, and complete the donation form.  Once the meat is processed, delicious ground meat and sausage will be delivered to our local Helping Hands school chapters for distribution to students and families in need.

Donations for meat processing will be accepted as part of the initiative. As a 501c3 public charity, Helping Hands Ending Hunger can provide a tax letter for donors.
