Good news from Erlanger at Hutcheson this week as the once trouble hospital returns to profitability. Hutcheson had an overall system profit for September, while the hospital itself showed a profit in July and August. It's the first month since 2009 that the finance committee got a report of system-wide profits. Contributing factors include a higher hospital censue, more surgeries, and an increase in emergency room use. In-patient care was up by 60 percent compared to the same month last year.
