The Ingalls grocery store in Trenton will remained closed for an indefinent period of time according to the store manager, Dewayne Moon. Moon told the Dade County Sentinel last week that adjusters still have not given a final assesment of the damages to the store’s property owners. Ingalls leases the Trenton store location from a property management group.
A large portion of the store’s roof was blown off during the tornadoes that struck Trenton on April 27. Store employees are drawing unemployment. Some said that while they were offered temporary jobs at the Ingalls store in Ringgold, the 60 mile drive to Catoosa County was cost prohibitive for employees. Ingalls does plan to re-open in Trenton, they just don’t know when.
