A man being held in Floyd County in connection with a shooting in September is now facing additional charges after he tried to escape from his jail cell.
According to reports – 29 year old Montego Drake Arnold tried to manipulate the door lock, using a plastic spoon.
He also kicked the door locks to try to get out while deputies were ordering him to stop.
Arnold is charged with obstruction, rioting in a penal institution, criminal attempt to deface government property and criminal attempt to escape.
He has been in jail since September facing several charges relating to a shooting in Garden Lakes.
During that incident he allegedly fired a gun inside a home and ran from officers – dropping suspected marijuana in the course of the chase.
He was charged with aggravated assault, felony possession of marijuana the possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and other charges in connection with that incident.
