A Trion man was arrested on Tuesday night around 9 PM after he discharged a gun in a residential neighborhood. According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, forty-eight-year-old Jason Gray of an Adams Drive address told a responding deputy that he had shot a 9mm pistol after he “thought he saw someone with a flashlight” in a wooded area near the residence. Gray admitted to officers that he never saw anyone but decided to fire the gun as a warning. Gray showed the deputies the empty shell casings on the ground. Deputies say that Gray was intoxicated at the time of the incident. No one, and no structures were harmed from the incident. Gray was charged with discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
