A short introduction to beekeeping course will be held Feb. 19th. It is sponsored by the Northwest Georgia Beekeepers Association.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and class begins at 9 a.m. at the Walker County Ag Center.

This course is for potential beekeepers interested in learning beginning beekeeping skills. Topics will include history of bees, bee biology, tools and equipment, how to get started with bees, maintaining bee colonies and bee resources.

The cost is $25 for individuals and $35 for families. Pre-registration is required. Registration includes lunch, handouts, and one year club membership.

Family members under 18 accompanied by an individual adult are free.
