More than 39,000 Georgia Tax Return prepares are being contacted by the Internal Revenue Service to remind them that they have to renew their preparer tax identification number.  The IRS will require the use of the number on all Federal Returns by paid tax preparers beginning January 1, 2011.  The requirement applies to all tax return preparers, including enrolled agents, CPA’s and attorneys.  You can find out more by logging on to www.irs.gov/taxpros.
