Inmates from the Chattooga County Jail picked up over 2,400 pounds of garbage last month off Chattooga County roadways, according to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
The work detail picked up trash on Dry Creek Road, North Ridge Estates, Stoleman Road, Hamp Brewer Circle, Ellenburg Subdivision, Norton Road, Lake Wanda Reita, Goodwin Drive, Oakhill Subdivision, Rossville Boulevard, Oakhill Drive, Martin Dairy Road, Trion-Teloga Road, Back Penn Road, Dickeyville Road, Filter Plant Road, Saunders Road and Raccoon Creek Road.
In all, the work detail put in just over 40 hours and picked up 2,440.21 pounds of litter.
Sheriff Mark Schrader said, “2,400 pouds of litter is awful. PLEASE don’t throw out your trash into the roadsides of OUR county.”
