The Chattooga County Young Farmer and Director Lauren Jarrett will be honored at the Georgia Vocational Agricultural Teachers Association summer conference.

The 2021 Summer Conference gets underway today in Tifton and will take place throughout this week.  The Georgia Vocational Agricultural Teachers Association is made up of ag teachers at all levels throughout the state.  The Georgia Young Farmers program is designed for agricultural producers to continue their education after high school and college and for farmers and other ag-related industry workers to keep abreast of the latest advances in ag-science and technology.

Chattooga County has a very active Young Farmers chapter with ag producers in a wide variety of farming and agricultural enterprises.

Each year the Georgia Vocational Agricultural Teachers Association members nominate one of their peers for a variety of awards.  This year, Lauren Jarrett will accept the award for “Outstanding Post-Secondary Program” on behalf of the Chattooga County Young Farmers.
