On Monday of this week a Lyerly man reported a jewelry theft to the sheriff's department.  The Highway 114 man told law enforcement that a friend of his son was the only person that was at the residence since the jewelry turned up missing and gave the name of the twenty-six year old man he suspected to the responding deputy.  The Lyerly man said that he had left the jewelry in a bag on the counter and noticed it missing after his son's friend left the residence.  The single item of jewelry was listed in the report from the sheriff's department as being worth $4,000.  The incident is still under investigation.
