Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters announced last week that a new jail meal provider will be cooking the food for county inmates.

Jim’s Family Restaurant in Summerville won the bid to provide the service to the county Jail.  Their bid came in at $5.48 per inmate per day.  The former provider of jail meals was Pops Restaurant in Summerville.  Pop’s had come in with a bid of $5.70 per day.

Jim’s will begin providing the meals in 2010.
