The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce Memberships Team has selected Jim’s Family Restaurant as the Member of the Month for October 2021.

Jim’s Restaurant is named for Jim Mitchell, started out as a drive-in with roller skating waitresses? It has gone through several ownerships and a fire since its early beginnings around 60 years ago.

Vicki Boyd began at Jim’s in 1995 as a “third person” on the support staff and worked her way up to manager. When the opportunity presented itself, she bought in as a co-owner with Eugene and Jenny Mitchell. Gary Kennedy came on as a co-owner in 2018 from his father-in-law, Bobby Goodnight.

Last year Vicki and Gary adjusted to the challenges the pandemic presented, namely staffing issues, which still exist today. They no longer open on Mondays, and they close at 2p on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
