The Journey Community Food Pantry will be holding a vital grocery distribution event today, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, providing essential food items to residents in need. The distribution is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at its location at 15 Redmond Court NW, Rome, GA 30165.

This week, in addition to its regular offerings, the pantry is excited to announce the availability of fresh eggs for all eligible households. Recipients can also expect a wide array of staple groceries, including various meats, deli items, fresh breads, desserts, and canned goods.

The Journey Community Food Pantry serves residents of Floyd and Chattooga Counties in Georgia, as well as individuals residing in Cherokee, Alabama.

To ensure a smooth and equitable distribution process, the pantry reminds all participants to come prepared with the necessary identification. Households must present a photo ID along with a copy of a utility bill, medical bill, or a piece of government mail. This secondary document must be dated within the past two months, and junk mail will not be accepted. It is crucial that the address on the photo ID precisely matches the address on the proof of residency.

Households are eligible to receive assistance from the Journey Community Food Pantry once per month.
