The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has issued a temporary restraining order from enforcing a certain section of a law that was signed by Governor Brian Kemp earlier this year and was set to go in place on July 1st.

The part of the new law that has been halted would require a cash bail for over two dozen additional crimes in Georgia.

Also, the new law would limit nonprofit and other groups from assisting with bail bonds for more than three individuals each year.

The court order is part of a lawsuit that names Governor Brian Kemp that was filed by the ACLU and Barred Business.  The temporary halt is for 14 days
