Judith Ann Neelley was denied parole on Thursday morning, according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader. Neelley was serving a life sentence in Alabama for the death of a Rome teenager. She was also facing a life-sentence that was handed down in Chattooga County Superior Court. Sheriff Schrader had said that if the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles released Neelley, he would be waiting to pick her up when she was released from prison in Alabama to bring her back to Georgia and serve her life sentence here. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey had written the pardons and parole board on Wednesday, imploring them to keep Neelley incarcerated.
