In November, a Chattooga County Jury found a Lyerly man not-guilty of vehicular homicide in Chattooga County Superior Court.  The case stemmed from a wreck on Highway 114 in the Chattoogaville community on June 9, 2010.  Jeremy Hankins, age 31 at the time, was driving a Frito Lay delivery truck when he struck the rear of a 1989 Buick Century driven by 88 year old Charlie Caldwell.  Mr. Caldwell and a passenger in the car, sixty-two year old Alice Faye Ivester were both killed in the accident.  A Chattooga County jury deliberated for only about ten minutes before returning the verdict of not-guilty.
