The Walker County Jury that heard the trial of Mark White of LaFayette who is accused of killing his friend over a bottle of liquor did not reach a verdict on Thursday.

The defense wrapped its case on Wednesday afternoon in Walker County Superior Court.  At one point the jury asked presiding Judge Kristina Cook Graham to clarify the meaning of malice murder and felony murder.  Yesterday the jury is reported to have asked the judge these three questions: “What is the law in defending yourself?” “Define aggravated assault?” and “Can you commit aggravated assault while defending yourself?”

The judge reread her instructions on determining aggravated assault and justifications in self-defense. The jury foreman acknowledged that the judge’s re-reading of the instructions helped answer the jury’s concerns.

The jury will continue deliberations today in Walker County.
