On Wednesday of this week, the Summerville Police Department was called to a Kelly Street address after a resident found a Chihuahua dog in a cage, apparently abandoned.

The man told a responding officer that he had found the dog inside the cage in a wooded area behind his house and wanted a report on file in case someone claimed the dog.

The man told the officer that he was willing to keep and care for the dog.
