On Tuesday, at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs and Issues event, Governor Brian P. Kemp shared his main legislative and budget priorities for the 2025 session. He aims to maintain Georgia’s status as the best state for business by promoting talent development, implementing tort reform, and investing in key infrastructure.

Governor Kemp expressed gratitude to attendees and highlighted past successes, including the creation of over 193,000 jobs and more than $90 billion in private investments since 2019. He stressed the importance of workforce development and announced the “Top State for Talent Act,” which plans to align educational programs with high-demand careers.

He reported on the positive outcomes of initiatives like Georgia MATCH and noted record enrollment in Georgia’s higher education system. Despite challenges such as the decline in high school graduates, he sees these obstacles as opportunities.

Kemp’s administration is also focused on the Rural Workforce Housing Initiative, having awarded over $42 million in grants to support rural communities in housing development. He announced further investments in infrastructure to strengthen Georgia’s economy and competitiveness.

Lastly, he emphasized the need for tort reform to improve Georgia’s legal environment, urging local chambers to advocate for these changes. He believes that with collaboration, Georgia can continue to be an excellent place for families and businesses.
