Congratulations to Ms. Kirby Jones, who teaches 5th grade math and science at Lyerly Elementary for being awarded the “Friend of The Community” Award! Her nominations tell us that she continuously goes above and beyond to try and make a positive impact on her students. “She always has a smile on her face, making sure they always feel welcome and encouraged. She goes the extra mile to teach each student, finding new ways to help if one or multiple are struggling in different ways. Her positivity is infectious and her love for having an impact on these young lives is very apparent. Not only does she want to have a positive impact on the students, but she wants to make sure her coworkers and the parents of students are getting any help that is needed as well. She has never met a stranger and will help anyone in any way possible. She continues to impact the community and is a friend to all.” Thank you Ms. Kirby Jones for the positive impact that you are making in the community! You are making a strong impression on the lives of our future leaders by showing kindness and compassion! Keep up the good work! It Matters!
