The Lady Indians Softball Team is going to state. The Chattooga team secured its spot in the State Tournament Wednesday night by defeating Armuchee and Pepperell in region tournament play. It's the first time in the school's history that the softball team has been state bound.
Senior Tori Willingham told the Rome News Tribune on Wednesday, "this has been our goal all year. We wanted to do something special for our community. … and now we just want to keep moving forward.”
Chattooga defeated Armuchee Wednesday 9-1. Next, they played a heated game against Pepperell and came out victorious with a win of 8-7. Chattooga faced off with Dade County Thursday and lost that game, which means they will go on the road for the play-offs.
