The Chattooga Lady Indians’ softball season concluded October 15, after the team fell in a doubleheader sweep to Banks County in the state playoffs. Banks County secured both wins on their home field, advancing to the next round and bringing Chattooga’s successful 2025 campaign to a close.

The Lady Indians struggled to find offensive rhythm in the crucial matchup, dropping the first contest 5-0. The second game proved to be an even greater hurdle, with Banks County delivering a powerful performance, resulting in an 18-0 shutout that ended Chattooga’s postseason effort.

While the playoff finale ended abruptly, the Chattooga team celebrated a season defined by persistence and tradition.

Chattooga Softball Coach Jeff Bennett expressed immense pride in his team’s achievements, highlighting their consistency throughout the year.

“So proud of my Lady Indians,” Coach Bennett stated following the conclusion of the season. “We ended our season with a record of 12-12, 4th in our region.”

Bennett emphasized the program’s strong legacy, noting that the 2025 squad maintained a significant streak for the school.

“This marks the 10th straight year we have made the State Playoffs,” he added.

Honoring the Senior Class

The elimination also signals the departure of a strong senior class that has been central to the team’s success over the last four seasons. The five departing seniors leave behind an impressive win total that has kept the program competitive on an annual basis.

“Our seniors Addie Veatch, Alexis Womack, Brinley Thomas, Bella Burdick, and Naomi Scruggs will be missed,” Bennett said. “These seniors in the 4 years they played won over 40 games.”

The Chattooga Lady Indians finish the year at 12-12 overall, having successfully achieved a playoff berth for the tenth time in a row.
