A Walker County man has been indicted by the Chattooga County Grand Jury on charges of rape and child molestation. 

The incident is alleged to have taken place in Chattooga County in 2021 between January and May. Ricky Allen Sprayberry, age 51 of LaFayette is accused of forcible rape against a twelve-year-old girl. Authorities say that the victim spoke with a school counselor about the abuse and it was reported to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

Back in 2012, Sprayberry was charged with first-degree arson and burglary, along with drug charges, stemming from an incident on Old Justice Road in the Welcome Hill area in Trion.  Sprayberry will be facing the rape charges in Chattooga County Superior Court.
