A Bush-Hog equipped tractor was recently taken on a joyride in Lafayette.

According to the city manager, the public works department parked a tractor near the Lafayette Airport after a day of mowing and the employee left the keys in the tractor.

An unknown suspect got in it and took the tractor for a spin damaging a nearby privately-owned airplane hangar.

The city's insurance reportedly will get that bill since the tractor is city-owned. The tractor was recovered and not badly damaged. No arrests have been made.
