Chattooga County’s Land Use Commission met on Tuesday of this week and heard updates on the proposed Zaxby’s restaurant location and about an agricultural development and a land development plan. The commission approved Zaxby’s plan to build near McDonald’s at Hurley’s Crossing Shopping Center. The location is just outside of the Summerville City limits. Also, the commission heard about the development of a rural-style, large acreage subdivision. Woodland Capital is the developer of the project which is located on Sand Pit Road in the Trion area. Woodland Capital states that they “specialize in the acquisition of large land tracts in the Southeastern United States with current income potential including timber production, farming, citrus, mining, and mitigation opportunities”.
