The Chattooga County Land Use Commission will be meeting next week and has a full agenda for the meeting.  Last week, the agenda was posted on the county government’s web site and word spread quickly that Zaxby’s was looking to build a restaurant in Summerville.

The proposed new restaurant would be built near McDonald’s at Hurley’s Crossing.  According to Barry Hurley with Southeast First National Bank, the deal has been in the works for some time.  Mr. Hurley posted, “Sometimes doing a deal takes a lifetime of contacts. Thankful for all of the folks involved in this one and who have helped in this transaction”.

Zaxby’s is a Georgia-based fast food chain that has spread across the South in recent years.  The restaurant chain currently operates locations in 19 states.

The land use commission meeting to discuss permitting for the restaurant will be held next Tuesday, May 9th at the Chattooga County Civic Center at 6 PM.
