Several hundred property owners from Chattooga County attended a meeting at the Chattooga High School Cafeteria on Tuesday evening to hear about appealing their property tax assessments.

The meeting was hosted by Chattooga County Concerned Citizens.  The meeting featured several speakers who walked the attendees through the tax appeal process.  Many Chattooga County property owners have seen the assessed values of their properties skyrocket.  People attending the meeting said that it was informative and featured several speakers knowledgeable on the tax appeal process.

Appeals must be received or postmarked by the “Last date to file an appeal” date listed at the top of the assessment.  The deadline for appeal is August 21, 2023. You can download the form to appeal your property tax assessment HERE
