Menlo School was on a soft lock down on Friday after a man fired shots into a home on Reese Street near the school.  School officials said that children were not in danger, but took the extra precaution.  Chattooga County Chief Deputy Kevin Woods said that the shooter left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Woods told WZQZ that the call came in around 11:30 on Friday morning saying someone had fired shots into a home during a domestic incident.  The shooter was gone by the time law enforcement arrived on the scene.  Neighboring law enforcement agencies in Georgia and Alabama were notified about the suspect.  Deputies searched for sixty-two-year-old Thomas Nelson “Tommy” Tucker throughout the afternoon on Friday.

Chief Deputy Woods told WZQZ  that Tucker was taken into custody by Chattooga County Deputies and Narcotics Division without incident around 8 PM on Friday evening at his residence on Reese Street in Menlo and has been booked into the Chattooga County Jail on aggravated assault charges.
