The Georgia State Patrol and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety remind travelers to avoid getting a ticket during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend by remembering to click the seat belt before every trip.  While Thanksgiving Day has passed, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shoppers will be out in force this weekend, and troopers along with local law enforcement are reminding drivers that holiday traffic enforcement will still be active throughout the weekend.

State troopers and local law enforcement officers will be working throughout the extended holiday weekend to save lives and prevent crashes by enforcing speeding, DUI, hands-free, seat belt and all traffic safety laws through Sunday.

In addition to Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping traffic, one of the busiest travel days of the year will be on Sunday when travelers are returning home from their Thanksgiving trips.  Remember to play it safe – buckle up, put that cell phone down and do not drink and drive.
