Earlier this week an Oak Hill Road, Lyerly man reported a theft to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

When a responding deputy arrived on the scene he spoke with the complainant, Mr. Terry Pettyjohn, who said that someone had stolen a riding lawn mower.  Mr. Pettyjohn said that the mower was sitting beside his carport earlier in the morning, and when he went out later it was gone.

The lawn mower was a red, Troy Built mower with no headlights.  Also, a car batter that was sitting on the lawn mower was stolen.

The incident was turned over to an investigator.
