The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting graduation for the Leadership Chattooga – Junior Edition today at noon at Sweet P’s at the Tavern in Trion.  Chamber Director Cindy Rivers-McGraw told WZQZ News that there will be 13 students graduating from the program.

The students are a mixture of Trion School, Chattooga School and homeschool students who have completed the program.  Rivers-McGraw says that the program is important and shows the students that is possible to get an education and return to Chattooga County for a career.  She says that is exactly what the speaker at today’s event did.  T.J. Grogan is a Chattooga County native that works for Advance Rehab.  He has two children and lives in the county with his wife and is very active in the community.  He coordinates the fishing tournament for the Chattooga Riverfest and is actively involved in the Chattooga River Group.

The chamber hopes that the students in the program will be inspired by Grogan’s experience and involvement in the community.

Registration is open for the 2023-2024 Chattooga Leadership – Junior Edition for rising juniors and seniors.  Four students from Chattooga, four from Trion and four homeschool students will have the opportunity to participate.  The program runs from September to April and does not meet in December. To register, or for more information contact Cindy Rivers-McGraw at the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce.
