Summerville Police responded to a call about a burglary on Sunday. According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, officers were called to a Curran Street address after Howard Slicker discovered someone had broken into his home.
When officers arrived and spoke with the complainant, he showed them where a window air conditioner unit had been removed and was sitting next to the open window on the ground. Officers also found glass on the front door had been broken. Inside the residence, the burglar had blocked the entry into the bedroom with a chair.
The burglar had left sausage patties on Mr. Slicker’s bed. Mr. Slicker said that he had no sausage patties in the house before the burglary. At first, Mr. Slicker believed the burglar had taken a newspaper about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but he later found that newspaper in a closet. Nothing else seemed to be missing from the residence.
The incident has been turned over to an investigator.
