Chattooga County Coroner Earle Rainwater was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Coroner’s Association at the organization’s fall meeting held in Warner Robbins over the weekend.  In presenting the award on Saturday, Rainwater was recognized by his peers statewide for his 48 years of service as Coroner of Chattooga County.

Rainwater was elected in 1976 and won reelection each term since.  He is the only Democrat still holding a constitutional office in Chattooga County. He and his wife Phyllis, are also the owners of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in Summerville.

Earle Rainwater will be honored with a reception on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The event is open to the public and will take place at the Chattooga County Civic Center (located at 44 Ga-38, Summerville, GA) from 3-5pm. Barbara Massey Reece, one of the organizers, stated, “We wanted to let everyone have a chance to express their congratulations to Earle for his exemplary service to the community.”

All friends of Earle’s in the Chattooga community and surrounding areas are invited to drop-by anytime between the hours of 3 PM and 5 PM. Light refreshments will be served.
