With the attention of the national news media on the Democratic National Convention this week in Denver and the Republican National Convention next week in St. Paul, not much focus is being given to local races.

AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News has spoken with several of the local candidates for election in Chattooga County.  The candidates that we have spoken with have said that they are waiting at least until after labor day before the start intense campaigning.

The November general elections will see both Democratic and Republican candidates for Chattooga County Commissioner, the 11th District Georgia House and the 53rd District Senate races along with five men running in the non-partisan race for a seat on the bench of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
